U2NT short for U2: Larry, Adam, The Edge and Bono, Now & Then was the brain child of Rita Simonian, the creator of our Facebook page not quite 2 years ago. With over 5000 fans now, we have been so blessed with the fan outcome and appreciation of the extensive coverage we provide for fans.  Rita, being a fan of 25 years + has been, in her words, lucky to be in the company of the band on and off the past 25 years.  She decided U2 is not just about this generation, it is about who they were from the start of their band 3 decades ago.. She wanted to share the “THEN” part of this idea with the new generation and dedicated fans of the “THEN” era.She started by bringing back rare videos, songs, of the beginning of U2, and play VJ on facebook.  This attracted fans. She then saw it was too much work for just one person, so she teamed up with Suzy Da Costa from Canada, and turned the facebook page into a U2 fest page. They started covering concerts live, from the current tour, 360 degrees.  With live coverage provided by 1000mikes and Ustream, courtesy of dedicated U2 fans such as U2gigs and U2tours.de, they held a captive audience, posted live sets, then full coverage of post show pictures, extensive media coverage, and videos courtesy of U2gigs and other U2 fans.

Rita’s goal however was always to raise awareness for DATA.  She was appointed head administrator to the DATA CAUSE page on facebook, little known till this day by whom, she decided to follow in Bono’s trail.  RAISE AWARENESS  during such shows, and thousands of fans present. So she started campaigning for ONE.ORG, PRODUCT(RED), The Global Fund, Born HIV Free, and everything Bono stood behind… Doing what was suggested by Bono at one quiet evening 2 years ago, she followed through.

Now we have started a new blog for U2NT. Her idea is to provide extensive coverage, yet just facts such as set list, pictures of concerts in unlimited numbers, and videos of each song played during concert.  Also providing some pre-show coverage with pictures or videos of the claw being set up at venue, and fans in line, waiting for the show.

“All in ONE PLACE… so fans don’t go looking here and there for concert footage.” and I quote her.

We have a a great team of administrators posted above, who dedicate their time with fact finding post concert for hours and hours..  All of this, for you, and for us to raise awareness whilst in company of captive audience during concerts.
